Gold Room

April 2021 brought one of my favorite projects yet. My mom and I, having painted several rooms before, decided to have some fun with a space — each of us picked two color chips at Home Depot without telling the other. When we compared choices at home, we both had chosen Behr “Saffron Strands,” — we’re always on the same page, but this felt next level. Over the next three days, our holy trifecta of HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby, and Target supplied everything we needed, and the room came together faster than we expected. Now fondly known as the “gold room,” it’s a fun, finished guest room space that everyone always fights over to stay in.
