Harlem, NY Apartment

With an open concept that places the kitchen, dining area, and living room in full view, my client wanted each zone to read as its own space while still flowing together. We worked with existing pieces—the blue sofa, living-room rug, and long dining table—and introduced a bold pop of color with orange bar stools. The stools pick up tones from the rug and instantly warmed the room.

We also painted a few nontraditional accent walls in a soft gray to add warmth and depth without overpowering the white walls and ceiling. The main living-room wall was intentionally left bare so the family could enjoy movies projected there together.
